George Cranmer - Director

In the early nineties George Cranmer founded George Cranmer Associates to act as the agent for U.S. based risk takers wishing to invest in UK Local Authorities and NHS Hospital Trusts. In this role GCA assembled, managed and re-marketed equipment portfolios exceeding £200 million.

In 1998, he recognised the need for a more efficient risk transfer paradigm and with then partner Stephen Lawrence, founded Cranmer Lawrence & Company Ltd to develop a new and more efficient form of Residual Value Insurance. In conjunction with Centre Insurance International Company (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Zurich Financial Services Group) Cranmer Lawrence provided through its correspondent banks an innovative form of residual value insurance to enable UK Statutory Bodies to enjoy the benefits of a fully compliant operating lease structure. It is testimony to the efficacy of this policy that in less than two years after the policy's inception, Cranmer Lawrence had in excess of £400 million of assets under management.

With those strong foundations in place, George grew the company in to contiguous markets by leveraging Cranmer Lawrence’s unique asset management capabilities.

George was instrumental in securing the company’s relationship with De Lage Landen Leasing Ltd, the asset finance division of Rabobank, the only AAA rated privately held bank in the world.
